original hand drawn monoprints
The Monoprint has become my favourite way to draw a line and I’m beginning to introduce the technique into my paintings.
Created with lightfast lamp black oil paint on 150/250gsm coated paper, each print is made individually and therefore, with smudges and all, completely unique.
The vintage typewriter holds great significance for me. An unusual symbol of my childhood, I would lug the heavy thing around the house, every pound on the cumbersome keys reverberating through the furniture and floorboards. I created important music reviews (probably of Adam & the Ants) for the school newspaper, a prize winning “living history” piece comprising of an interview with my Nan and the first flourishes of a screenplay when I was fifteen years old.
